- These legislative files document activities by staff of County Executive Randy Revelle's office to monitor, analyze and respond to actions and issues of legislative bodies, primarily the Washington State Legislature during its annual sessions. A small amount of material relating to federal issues and legislation is also present. Most record material dates from the period of the Revelle administration, 1981-1985. The earlier material in this series (1976-1980) came to the Revelle executive office via the Office of Intergovernmental Relations and Program Research, which, with its predecessor the Program Development Division, had managed legislative liaison functions during the administrations of County Executives Ron Dunlap and John Spellman. Record types include background information collected by staff, bill analyses and status reports, correspondence, guidelines and manuals, issues analysis, legislation digests and summaries, memoranda, and testimony. Subjects include the Clean Air Act of 1977, Community Development Block Grants, continuation of program funding in the early 1980s, the First Avenue South Bridge in Seattle; King County human services funding, public disclosure, revenue sharing to counties, tax collection and distribution, the Washington Association of County Officials, and the Washington State Association of Counties. Arrangement is by year, with topics within years arranged alphabetically. A list of box contents is in the series file.
